Infused with Angiangi, a unique taonga of the ngahere, this 2-in-1 scrub bar offers a skincare ritual inspired by the wisdom of our tūpuna and the gifts of Tāne Mahuta.

Angiangi and Hawa are names traditionally used for several species of lichens and mosses found growing within the ngahere of Tāne Mahuta.

These remarkable taonga were known to our tūpuna, who gathered various mosses and lichens for practical purposes, including soft coverings for wounds.

Associated with Tāwhirimātea, atua of the winds, Angiangi has an extraordinary ability to absorb and retain moisture. When wet, it becomes soft and sponge-like, making it a natural inspiration for gentle exfoliation and cleansing.

Inspired by these unique qualities, we have incorporated Angiangi into our scrub bar to create a product that honours traditional knowledge while supporting modern skincare rituals.

How to use

Gently massage the Angiangi Scrub Bar onto wet skin to create a light lather. Use circular motions to exfoliate, cleanse, and refresh the skin before rinsing thoroughly with warm water.

When your scrub bar has reached the end of its life, simply add the remaining Angiangi fibres to your compost, returning them back to Papatūānuku and completing the natural cycle.
