“Wash away the toxins of the day” A new but traditional take on a shower staple. Our Kawakawa and Pūriri Charcoal soap is handmade with locally gathered ingredients, bringing you a detoxifying everyday body soap.
Kawakawa has been used by Māori for hundreds of years. Myristicin is one of the bioactive molecules in kawakawa, and considered responsible for its incredible healing properties, as it is a known anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and used to reduce inflammation in various skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, acne, sunburn, insect bites, minor cuts, burns and chapped lips. Here at Ānuku we have used an infusion of kawakawa with Olive oil as well as dried powdered kawakawa leaves to help aid exfoliation.
Activated Pūriri Charcoal is used for exfoliation without stripping the skin of natural oils, deeply cleansing the pores, this helps relieve skin of impurities and also tightens the skin. Pūriri branches have been hand collected after strong winds and then transformed into activated charcoal finally ground into a powder.

How to use
How to use
Lather between hands, onto a natural Luffa sponge or wash cloth and use over the whole body to “wash away the toxins of the day”. Follow with a hydrating oil or moisturer.
